Briar House, off Loke Road, Lynn, resident Lucy Platter celebrated her 100th birthday last Tuesday with music and a special cake, where kept staff on their toes with plenty of playbacks of Knees Up Mother Brown. Lucy was born in London and lived there for most of her life. During the Second World War, she drove an ambulance in the capital and was also a machinist. In later years, Lucy and her late husband John, who had one son Mike, moved first to Peterborough before finally settling down in Lynn.
