Man injured in Fakenham street attack

A man had to be taken to hospital with facial and hand injuries when he was attacked in a Fakenham street during the early hours of Sunday.

An investigation has been launched into the incident, which is said to have happened in Norwich Road shortly after 1am.

A Norfolk Police spokesman said the victim, a man in his 30s, had been walking along Norwich Road when a group of up to four men began verbally abusing him.

He was then punched and fell to the ground where he was further punched and kicked.
