A man will be spending Christmas behind bars after being charged in connection with the alleged robbery of a teenage girl on a cycle path last week.

Jack Greenacre, 25, was remanded in custody when he appeared before magistrates in Norwich on Friday, via videolink.

He is accused of stealing an iPhone from the girl on a cycle path near Edward Benefer Way and Gaywood Road at around 7.30am last Wednesday.

Greenacre, who gave his address as De Grey Road, Gaywood, during the hearing, also faces a charge of attempted robbery in relation to a separate incident.

He has been remanded in custody to appear before Norwich Crown Court on January 5.
