The body of a man recovered from the River Great Ouse in Lynn a week and a half ago has been identified.

Police have confirmed it is a 40-year-old Polish man from Lynn.

The body was found in the river on Saturday, March 4.

Initial enquiries suggested the body could have been a missing person from the Cambridgeshire area, but this line of enquiry was ruled out.

A friend of the deceased man contacted police on Sunday, March 5 to report them missing and subsequent enquiries established this was the man found in the river.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.
