As runners tackled the London Marathon on Sunday, Lynn teenagers walked more than five times the distance between them when they held a 12-hour sponsored walk in aid of the Red Wellies charity.

Fourteen students walked a total of 273 laps of the paths around Lynnsport – a total of 136.5 miles or 5.2 marathons!

They organised the event as part of their National Citizen Service (NCS) Social Action Project and raised £335 for the charity, which was created in memory of Lisa Wiles and raises money for brain tumour research.

The group is hoping to smash the £500 mark when fellow student Charlie Barnes-Hooker completes a sponsored bike ride from Dersingham to Wells and back on Saturday.
