Medals have been presented to dedicated book worms in Downham.

More than 200 children went along to Downham Library on Saturday to receive their awards for completing the summer reading challenge.

A total of 520 children took part in the challenge to read more than six books following along a record breakers theme.

Norfolk County Councillor Tony White, pictured above, presented the medals to youngsters during two ceremonies.

Library manager Fran Valentine said: “Everyone had a wonderful time on Saturday and the library was noisy and vibrant.

“We’ve had a lot of good feedback from parents about the reading challenge.”
