While most youngsters disappear when there’s washing up to be done, Lynn Cub Scouts were actually volunteering to do the job in May 1979 (well before the introduction of dishwashers).
For a period of five weeks they were available for washing up work in return for donations towards their own International Year of the Child project. Nationally more than 300,000 Cubs were raising money for less fortunate children in Nepal, including these members of the 5th Lynn (Wednesday) pack who were willing to wash up at any public functions and also in private homes.
