Members of Lynn’s Swimming Club were able to train on dry land in 1986, thanks to the efforts of a group of engineer and technician apprentices from Cooper Roller Bearings at South Lynn.
This picture was taken at the presentation of the exercise frame made by the apprentices. which could be used by swimmers to tone and strengthen muscles to improve strokes. The club’s assistant coach, Mr David Hall, was a draughtsman at Cooper Roller Bearings and designed the frame – with the company sponsoring the labour and the materials. A dozen apprentices spent several weeks on the project.
