This week’s look at the Anthony Curton School at Walpole Chase features the 60-plus pupils in the junior department in June, 1984.
They were coming to the end of the first full year in their smart new surroundings.
As with the younger children in the infant department, the juniors were given thorough instruction in the basic skills of reading, writing and numeracy. Computer skills were also on the curriculum.
But the learning was not always confined to the classroom as a party of 24 pupils had recently enjoyed a five-day break in Derbyshire.
