A funday held in memory of a Middleton man who died from cancer raised £1,000 for Macmillan. David Footer, 63, died from the disease back in August and family and friends organised the day which was held in Middleton Village Hall.

David’s sister Rosie said: “Unfortunately we’ve had a lot of cancer in the family and we wanted to do something to help the nurses. I’d like to thank everyone who turned up to support the event and all of the local businesses who donated prizes. I’d also like to thank my sister Nicola Barker for everything she did.”
