Sunday marked the first day of a month-long exhibition at the Custom House looking at ‘A Celebration of Christmas Past’, an exhibition of beautiful Christmas memorabilia.

The exhibition, which will continue until January 2, focuses on Christmas traditions and beautiful memorabilia during the 20th century.

The collection belongs to Lynn resident Lindsay Abel, a Lynn resident, who said: “I have been collecting for about 15 years now and from the fascination of a few unusual baubles has grown an interest in all things Christmassy.” The exhibition is made up of hundreds of items; many of which are rare and valuable. Some unmissable exhibits are the German glass baubles from the 1880s; some very unusual Japanese Christmas characters; a number of Christmas fairies dating from the 1930s. Entry to the exhibition costs £1 for adults and 50p for children. mlnf15mf0110174
