A motorcyclist is in a serious condition in hospital this afternoon, Monday, June 2, following a collision with a car earlier this morning.

An investigation has been launched following the crash between a BMW motorbike and a red Vauxhall Corsa, which happened on the A1122, close to the junction with London Road, at around 5.40am today.

A Norfolk Police spokesman said the male rider was initially taken to the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital with a serious head injury.

He was later transferred to the Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge, where his condition was described as “serious” as the Lynn News went to press.

The road was closed for almost five hours as emergency crews tackled the incident.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who either saw the collision or either of the vehicles involved in it beforehand.

Witnesses are asked to contact PC Louise Manning, of the roads policing unit based at Swaffham, via the non-emergency 101 number.
