Lynn’s MP has pledged to take up the case of a town nursery which was shut by Ofsted in a dispute over child safety processes.
The Jack and Jill nursery, which was based at the Providence Street community centre, was forced to close after inspectors ruled that managers failed to follow their own safeguarding procedures when they became aware of a concern about a child in their care.
But parents are fighting the decision, which they claim is unjustified and has left them without suitable alternative childcare.
Now, North West Norfolk MP Henry Bellingham has said he will raise the issue with both the inspection body and the government in a bid to address parents’ concerns about the ruling, which was published earlier this week.
He said: “What we need to establish is whether the correct process has been followed.
“It’s vital for the parents to have redress so they can be satisfied the right procedures have been followed.”
