Youngsters from Mr Bees Holiday Club took part in a charity walk around a school’s sports ground to raise funds for Cancer Research UK over the school holidays.
Anna Calton, room leader for Mr Bees, said: “This was the first sponsored walk we had done, but between the trustees and staff we all knew people who had either had or been affected by cancer.
“We must have walked around a mile and all the children really enjoyed it.
“We all held hands until we reached the end, then they all ran the last bit. We will definitely be doing it again.”
The amount raised by the charity walk is yet to be totted up – but one youngster raised £50 all by themselves.
Mr Bees is a nursery and family centre based at St Augustines in North Lynn but children came from across the organisation’s half-term clubs, including Springwood and Hamburg Way in North Lynn, to take part in the fundraiser.
