Downham and District Heritage Society is coming to the end of an era as they gear up to move into the £110,000 new centre.
The society has begun to clear out its centre at Downham Hall, which has been its home since 2002.
Members are busy packing away the hundreds of photographs, documents and other gems for storage in Lynn.
Builders began work in April to create a heritage centre at the town’s former fire station.
Work is on schedule for the grand opening in Spring next year.
The society is now putting out an appeal for more volunteers to step forward to help with re-enactments, creating displays, stewarding and much more.
The Old Fire Station will open on September 13.
