The Old Hunstanton Flower Festival at St Mary’s opened on Friday with the theme of Favourite Songs. Now 42-years-old, it is described by Rector Susan Bowden-Pickstock as “not just an event, it’s an institution, and a wonderful one too”. The festival has grown to include a fancy dress parade, fun dog show and evening events. Inside the church 32 beautiful and very different arrangements portrayed songs as diverse as Yes! We have no Bananas to How Great Thou Art, The Lady in Red and Blue Moon.

Visiting the Festival on Friday afternoon the borough mayor and mayoress David and Linda Whitby and Hunstanton mayor and mayoress James and Linda Johnson were escorted by Rev Susan and are pictured here by the font. MLNF16EB08428
