An electrical apprentice has been presented with the College of West Anglia’s Kevin Clarke Memorial trophy. Ryan Hockton, 19, of Wimbotsham, is at the start of a three year electrotechnical apprenticeship course.
After leaving school, Ryan completed a full-time electrical engineering course and secured employment with Bloom & Wake, enabling him to continue as an apprentice.
Despite having dyslexia, he demonstrated high practical skills
The Kevin Clarke award honours an electrical apprentice who was killed in 1984 and is sponsored by his parents John and Janet Clarke.
