A former village pub looks set to be converted into flats after plans were approved by councillors this week.
A scheme for the site on Wisbech Road, Outwell, was approved by members of the West Norfolk Council planning committee on Monday.
Applicant Steve Green was seeking permission to turn the former Red Lion pub into five self-contained flats. He also wanted to convert an outbuilding into a separate property.
However, officials reported that the application was retrospective and the subject of an enforcement investigation.
And parish councillors claimed the conditions of the outline planning consent granted three years ago had not been adhered to.
But committee members accepted officers’ recommendations to approve the proposal.
Their report said: “The application proposes a compatible alternative use of these premises for residential purposes within a highly sustainable location.”
