With a Mrs Norfolk Curve 2017 title under her belt, one Clenchwarton woman is looking forward to seeing what a national competition has in store for her.
Amy Oltai, 27, is one of the finalists who will take part in the Mrs British Beauty Curve pageant in Kent in August, and she hopes the contest’s body positive message is heard.
Amy said: “I entered because I believe in what the pageant is trying to show – that everyone is beautifully different.
“I have never had an issue with my body shape and was so excited to hear there was a pageant out there celebrating women for who they are.”
This is the second year that the mum-of-two is taking part in the pageant, which now has a ‘Mrs’ category for women who are aged 18 or over and legally married or in a civil partnership.
“It’s about embracing what we have got, rather than being upset about it – and the competition is so diverse, that’s what I like about it,” she added.
The finalists will face four rounds in the pageant, which is for women who wear a UK size 14 dress size or over, before a winner is crowned.
To be named Mrs British Beauty Curve 2017, entrants will have to impress during the dance routine, glitz and glam, swimwear and evening wear rounds.
Amy said: “I’m really excited. I was nervous last year, but now I’ve met everyone, who are all really supportive, it’s not like it’s a competition. We are all like a family.”
She also thanked sponsors Norfolk Gin, Razor sharp, Bees Bridal UK and Glamm Divas.
Amy will compete in the pageant in Maidstone on Saturday, August 5.
