A special seasonal lunch will be held in Swaffham next week for people who would otherwise be spending Christmas Day alone.

The event, which is now in its third year, is organised by staff from the town’s Iceni Partnership and will take place from noon until 4pm at the Assembly Rooms.

More than 50 people attended last year’s lunch and dozens are again expected this time around.

Jonathan Reed, from the partnership, said: “There is no barring criteria apart from you would be on your own over the festive period.

“We welcome young, old and families to a joyous social occasion in the warmth and splendour of Swaffham Assembly Rooms.”

Doors will open at noon for nibbles and drinks before a traditional festive lunch is served from 1pm.

The meal will then be followed by entertainment and bingo games.

Anyone who would like to book a place should contact the partnership on 01760 722800.
