Two West Norfolk ladies, who endured one of the hottest days of the summer to take on a walk and cycle ride, made a cheque presentation to charity and held a party for people with learning disabilities at the weekend.
Lisa Walpole and Nicole Folker from Independence Matters carers made a cheque presentation to Cancer Research UK for £453.98 and used the other half of the money to provide a party at the Crossroads Community Hub in Grimston Road.
Lisa said: “The group really enjoyed it. There was a fantastic disco, a hog roast and a sweet table which they thoroughly enjoyed.”
The pair walked from the Deer’s Leap on Wootton Road to Old Hunstanton before cycling their way back to their starting point to raise funds earlier this year.
After completing the walk in the summer, Mrs Walpole said: “Mrs Walpole said: “We wanted to do something to raise money because quite a few of our colleagues, friends and family have gone through various types of cancer.”
