Pelicans Under 12 Girls travelled to Norwich for the Dragons tournament with a team of a bare seven players.

It was an outstanding team performance by all seven players. Manager Jane Moore couldn’t have asked any more of the girls and they were crowned winners.

The results had unfolded, leaving Pelicans needing a win in their final game against Dragons. This task didn’t faze Pelicans and they knew the title was within their grasp. A superb solo run by Pope beating three players and the keeper gave them the lead.

A combination of passes from Scott again found Pope to double her tally.

Stoutt, Pluck and Scott worked tirelessly and a brilliant run by Scott was rewarded with a short corner, injected by Moore and clinically slotted home by Beales, for 3-0. Goal number four came from Moore following a Scott-Pope passing combination. The final goal came from a run by Stoutt running from defence through midfield threading the ball through to Pope to complete her second hat-trick of the day.

A wonderful Mother’s Day with the ‘magnificent seven’.
