Proposals to carry out repairs to Swaffham’s historic Buttercross have been approved by district council officials.
Planning and listed building consent has been granted to the town council to carry out the works on the Grade One listed structure in the Market Place.
The application allows the authority to renovate the structure and install seven new lighting standards, eight new benches and 14 lighting bollards around it.
They say that will create a “pool of light” around the monument and improve its setting.
Meanwhile, plans to build five homes on the site of the old Norse Commercial Services maintenance depot in Brandon Road have also been approved.
