Bedsits could become an outreach teaching area under new plans.

Freebridge Community Housing has applied to West Norfolk Council to convert eight bedsits in Providence Street Community Centre, Lynn.

Director of housing Robert Clarke said: “Freebridge are committed to creating opportunities for people within West Norfolk and as part of this have submitted a planning application for change of use at Providence Street Community Centre.

“The request is to allow an unused area to be turned into teaching space.

“The rooms will be used as part of an outreach programme, as both the location of the community centre, and the opportunity for partnership working with other groups based there makes it a very viable option.”

The planning application was lodged with the council last week.

The housing association bought the community centre from Norfolk County Council last year.
