Police have appealed for help to trace a motorist following an alleged fail to stop collision on the main route linking Downham and Swaffham.

An investigation has been launched into the incident, which happened on the A1122 Downham Road, Crimplesham, at around 3.45pm on Thursday.

A Norfolk police spokesman today said a silver vehicle, which is thought to be a Volvo, had been involved in a collision with a green Vauxhall Corsa. The incident happened close to the Hylton Gott garage.

However, she added that the driver of the silver car had not stopped at the scene following the impact.

Officers say they now want to trace the driver of the vehicle involved.

They are also keen to hear from anyone else who may have information about the incident.

Witnesses are asked to call PC Richard Godin, of the roads policing unit based at Swaffham, via the non-emergency 101 number.
