A man who paid £60 for some heroin ended up with a much bigger bill when police found the drug at his home.

Mark Winner, 38, of Chiltern Crescent, Hunstanton, pleaded guilty to possession of heroin and attempting to possess methadone, when he appeared in court in Lynn today.

Magistrates were told police had found 1.55 grams of heroin when they visited his home on September 17. They also found two bottle of methadone at the property.

During an interview, Winner said he had paid £60 for the powdered heroin, which he intended to smoke, while he had been given the methadone.

He was given a 12 month community order and told to pay a £180 criminal courts charge, plus a £60 victim surcharge.
