Communities which are blighted by anti-social behaviour can expect stronger action from police following a public meeting held in Downham last week.

The issue was discussed at a meeting of the area’s safer neighbourhood action panel (SNAP), which was held at the town hall last Wednesday.

The panel, which includes representatives of the police, local councils and other public bodies, agreed that police should prioritise known hot spots for disorder in the centre of Downham and around Southery over the coming weeks.

The results will then be reported to the panel’s next meeting, which is scheduled to take place in early March.

Anyone who wants to raise issues of concern ahead of that meeting should contact the Downham Safer Neighbourhood team via the 101 number,
