A request to hold an election to fill a vacancy on Hunstanton Town Council has been received.

It follows the resignation of Nigel King as a town councillor.

The date of the town council election (subject to a contest) has been fixed as , Thursday, November 26.

The Notice of Election will be published on Thursday, October 22, and nomination papers must be received by the Returning Officer no later than 4pm on Friday, October 30.

Anyone wishing to withdraw a nomination must do so in the prescribed manner no later than 4pm on that day.

The polling station, which will open from 7am to 10pm, will be at Hunstanton Town Hall.

The deadline for registering to vote in this election is Tuesday 10 November 2015.

Anyone unable to vote in person on that day may be eligible for a postal or proxy vote. Contact Electoral Services on (01553) 616773.

The deadline for applications to vote by post, including amendments to existing postal votes or postal proxy votes, is no later than 5pm on Wednesday, November 11.

The deadline for applications to vote by proxy is no later than 5pm on Wednesday, November 18.

The deadline is 5pm on Wednesday, November 11, if it is an amendment to an existing proxy vote arrangement

The last day for receipt of emergency proxy vote applications is no later than 5pm on Thursday, November 26.
