Council officials have criticised mindless pranksters after they used washing-up liquid to create a foaming fountain – twice in just two days.

The vandals first poured the foaming agent into the fountain in The Walks in Lynn on Wednesday evening.

West Norfolk Council workers cleaned it up on Thursday morning, only to be faced with the same on Friday morning.

A council spokesman said: “This isn’t the first time the fountain has been vandalised in this way, but unfortunately it isn’t overlooked by CCTV so we aren’t able to catch anyone in the act.

“Clearing up the washing-up liquid takes time, and is an inconvenience, but it doesn’t cause any damage to the fountain itself. It’s just a shame if it stops everyone enjoying the fountain, and The Walks’ other amenities, as they should be able to.” The picture show how the fountain looked on Friday morning.
