New Lynn R.P.C.’s fourth race of the season was from Lyndhurst (2) when 16 lofts sent 262 birds and released in a fresh SW wind at 0800 hrs, writes Kevin Mason.

Her Majesty the Queen won her first race of the season in the club and the bird took 2hrs 19 mins to fly 160 miles. The previous week’s winners Bernie Byrne and Kim Peacock took the next two cards, and both lots of pools and nom went to the Manning brothers.

Result: 1 Her Majesty the Queen, 2028; 2, 3, 6 Kim Peacock and Bernie Byrne, 2014, 2013 and 1976; 4 Eddie, Jim and Guy Perry 2012; 5 Linda Simper, 1979.

Wereham also raced from Lyndhurst (2) when 98 birds were sent by seven members.

Kevin and Diane Woolston didn’t get a win last season, but they did this week when their Nev Fisher Busschaert took the top spot and took 2hrs 11 mins to fly the 147 miles.

Clenchwarton (North) had seven members send 89 birds to Whitley Bay, and were released in a south wind at 0750 hrs.

One of the most easterly teams of Pete and Scott Garwood at Heacham took the top prize in a very hard head wind.

Clenchwarton (South) had seven members send 171 birds to Lyndhurst. Four races gone and all four have gone to Rod and Gloria Ogden. Dale & Neil Dennis also had his best race of the season with three cards.

Fens S.R. Federation had 11 clubs send 2,065 birds to Newbury. Some 11 local birds made the top 20, including seven in the top ten.

Rod and Gloria Ogden & Sons topped the Fed with his Clenchwarton winner. Bernie Byrne and Kim Peacock came second with their New Lynn winner. Gaywood winner Will Byrne was fourth.
