Red Wellies, the West Norfolk charity set up to fight brain tumours, has made its first big donation by handing over a cheque for £50,000 to Addenbrooke’s Hospital.

The money will be used to fund equipment in a new laboratory at the hospital in Cambridge.

An application has been made to the charity from Addenbrooke’s for the money to buy four vital pieces of research equipment.

The new laboratory will be named in honour of Lisa Wiles, the Blackborough End mother-of-three, after whom the charity is named – the Lisa Wiles Red Wellies Brain Tumour Support Fund.

Lisa lost her fight with a grade 4 brain tumour in 2011
