Electronic information screens at Lynn’s bus station will not be working again until after a £1.6 regeneration of the interchange is completed, it has emerged.
Work on the third phase of the project, in which southbound services will depart from and terminate in Portland Street, is due to begin next week.
But, during Thursday’s full council meeting, Labour’s Sandra Collop asked whether passengers would have to wait until the project is completed, which is expected to be in June, before the information service is restored.
Cabinet member Alistair Beales replied: “Yes, I’m afraid you have. It’s important to have real time information.
“There is a regrettable delay but given the scale of the project that is understandable.”
Several services including the Norfolk Green 505 to Spalding, the First X1 to Peterborough, Norwich and Yarmouth and the Konectbus to Swaffham, will be relocated to Portland Street from next Monday, March 9.
