Officials leading a bid for lottery funding to build a new village hall in Wereham are holding two focus groups in order to support their application.

The first event, for retired people from Wereham and surrounding areas, will take place this Thursday, June 18 at 3pm.

The session is meant for residents to share their ideas on how the new facility will improve their lives. There will also be an afternoon tea and prize draw for participants.

It will also launch a new social group that residents Sue Candler and Rosemary Pease are planning to establish when the new hall is complete.

Meanwhile, the second session, which will take place on Thursday, June 25 at 10am, will unveil a new skills group which Sue Smith is planning to set up in the new facility.

Participants will learn how to make pasta under the guidance of a cookery tutor as well as share their ideas on the tpes of skills the group should examine. Refreshments and a prize draw will again be available.

Officials say evidence from both sessions, which will be held at the existing village hall in Wereham, will go into their bid, which has to be submitted next month. and organisers say transport may be available.
