Council and sports officials will attend the opening of a renovated pavilion at a North Lynn sports ground this evening.
More than £300,000 has been spent on the refurbishment of the Kingsway pavilion to bring it up to modern standards.
And the facility will be formally opened at 6.15pm tonight.
The ceremony will be attended by West Norfolk Council leaders, officials from Alive Leisure, who are now managing the site, plus representatives of local leagues and community groups.
The opening will be followed by a friendly football match between a team from the nearby Discovery Centre, who use the ground, and a representative team from the King’s Lynn and District Sunday Football League.
The pavilion has been redeveloped through the Inspired Facilities programme, a legacy fund from the 2012 London Olympics intended to encourage greater community participation in sport. Work began in September last year.
Just under half of the £312,000 cost of the project was drawn from a £148,500 grant awarded by the Sport England-led programme.
The remaining money was provided by the borough council.
