Bell-ringers in Denver will be hitting the right note after receiving a new set of handbells.

The Handbells of St Mary’s have thanked the Geoffrey Watling charity along with businesses and other groups for helping to raise £2,600 to buy the 12 bells and insurance.

The group formed over a year ago and had previously been using a set of chimes which were on loan.

Fundraising will continue as members are hoping to buy new equipment.

The group, which is chaired by Sue Sampson and aims to promote handbell ringing, meets in the church on Thursdays from 10am. The organisation would welcome new members and there is no need to read music.

Members are also willing to perform in residential care homes and other events.
