The cliffs of Hunstanton have been voted as the top geological site on the coast of Britain in a special poll undertaken to mark Earth Science Week.

The British public were asked to name their top-10 “Geo-Sites” in the vote organised by the Geological Society. While Hunstanton topped the poll for coastal attractions, others on the list were Ironbridge Gorge (industrial and economic), Siccar Point, Berwickshire (historical and scientific), Stonehenge (human habitation), Craster, Northumberland (outcrops), Millook Haven, Cornwall (folding and faulting) and Glencoe (fire and ice).
