Christine Forecast, secretary of the Astro Brain Tumour Fund, organised a collection at the end of a concert by Russell Watson at the Corn Exchange, Lynn, on Tuesday. Six supporters stood at the exit doors with their buckets and £259 was donated. After the collection, they were invited to meet Russell on the stage – he was very charming and gained a few extra fans!

It would have been a subject close to the heart of tenor heartthrob Russell, because in 2006 it was discovered that he had a tumour in the brain. The following year it returned and he needed emergency surgery before he got the all clear.

Pictured with Russell are Trevor Forecast, Val Minns, Christine Forecast, Linda Rickford, Robbie Burton and Mary Burton.

Christine is busy organising the ninth Norfolk Family Walk in aid of brain tumour research which is being held at Holkham Hall on Sunday, October 11.
