Volunteers from Lynn’s Samaritans branch held an awareness event at Lynn’s railway station on Tuesday.

The sessions coincided with the morning and evening commuter travel periods and were aimed to raise awareness of the charity’s services.

Lynn and Downham were among 22 stations across East Anglia to host the sessions in a partnership between the Samaritans and Network Rail.

Colin Stuart, Samaritans’ regional marketing officer, said: “We want everyone to know that Samaritans is there for anyone who needs to talk about whatever is getting to them.

“We want to stress the value of speaking out before you get to a crisis point.”

Volunteers handed out information leaflets inviting passers by to speak to the Samaritans in times of need. The campaign also included a 365-mile cycling challenge at London’s Liverpool Street station.
