Housing was one of the key issues up for debate at the Lynn News election hustings, held at the College of West Anglia last night.

Candidates Henry Bellingham (Con), Toby Coke (UKIP), Hugh Lanham (Lib Dem), Jo Rust (Lab) and Michael de Whalley (Green) set out their positions on contentious developments in response to a question from Lynn resident Sue Bruce.

Mrs Bruce, a member of the Lynnsport Area Residents Association (LARA) committee, asked: “Do you believe that the government has a duty to stop local councils building on parks, playing fields and greenfield sites throughout the country and how would your party achieve this?”

Here, the candidates and audience members debate the issue.
