Youngsters from Lynn’s Churchill Park School made their annual visit to the Mart on Tuesday.
The showmen opened the Mart especially for the children, who have a range of complex and special needs, giving them the opportunity to enjoy the rides at their own pace without the hustle and bustle that comes later in the day.
Lynn Mart’s chief steward, Donald Gray, said: “One’s got to do one’s bit for everyone and we like to keep a good relationship with everyone.
“It is the people of Lynn who come out and support the Mart because it is theirs.”
Elaine Cooper, teacher at the school, said: “We all had a fabulous time, it was absolutely brilliant despite the weather. We were all a bit wet, soggy and cold but we all had a fantastic time.
“We’d like to say a huge thank you to the Showmen’s Guild and to the Rotary Club for organising this.”
The first date in the showmen’s calendar saw the Lynn Mart bringing two new rides to the town, which have certainly pulled in the crowds.
Mr Gray added: “People have wanted to come out and support their Mart. The benefit of the Mart is that you do have all the rides, but if you don’t want to spend a penny, you don’t have to.
“Overall it’s been a success and a good start to the year for the showmen, which is great because people all over the country have been wanting to know how it was going.
“It’s all gone really well this year and the new surfacing on the Tuesday Market Place has really helped. Credit to the council, it looks really nice and we didn’t have problems with filling in pot holes.”
