Workmen were out in force on Lynn’s South Quay on Sunday as work on a new parking project in the area continues.
The road was closed to traffic throughout the day to enable work on the installation of new parking meters along the waterfront to continue. Similar closures will also be in place on each of the next three Sundays, January 17, 24 and 31.
Under the plans, residents’ parking permits are also set to be introduced to the area. But St Margaret’s and St Nicholas Community Forum, representing residents, has called for part of the nearby Boal Quay long-stay car park to be set aside for the sole use of locals.
