A South Wootton volunteer has made it through to the finals of the largest national youth volunteering awards in the country thanks to her road safety campaign.
Jordan Bone, 24, is a road safety campaigner for the charities Fixers and Brake, has been named as one of just three finalists in her category for the vInspired National Awards next month.
She was inspired to go into schools and colleges to warn young people of the dangers of accepting lifts from newly qualified drivers after a car crash left her wheelchair-bound for life, at 15. Jordan said: “I feel so honoured to be a national finalist. It makes me proud to know that what I do makes a difference and having vInspired recognise it is an amazing bonus. I just hope that it encourages other people to volunteer and help make a change in their communities.”
