A fashion show exhibiting the best creations from a group of year 12 and 13 BTEC Fashion and Clothing students took place last Wednesday at Springwood High School.
More than 50 girls of all ages paraded up and down the catwalk to showcase the designs of those pupils on the two-year long course, which teaches students to both design and make their own clothes.
The audience were treated to a demonstration of outfits with a retro vibe, with 1960’s style mini-skirts and 1950’s prom dresses included in the collections, as well as accessories such as handbags and evening gloves.
The new show was full of glitz and glamour, kicking off with live music from Year 8 student Amy Palmer, and attracted a large crowd comprising of Lynn mayoress Julie Manning, school headmaster Mr Andrew Johnson, fellow members of staff, parents, other family and friends of those students demonstrating their work.
BTEC fashion and clothing course leader Miss Markwell said: “I am overwhelmed with how well the show went and I am very proud of the Fashion students’ hard work and effort.
“It was amazing seeing all of the students creations come to life at the fashion show. I would like to thank the models and everyone involved in the show, and all those who supported the event and I hope it has the same success next year.”
