St Germans man admits attacking partner after drinking binge

A man punched his partner in the head and kneed her in the chin after going on a drinking “binge”, a court heard.

Richard Davis, 41, grabbed his partner by both arms and swung her around after coming home drunk at 4am, Lynn magistrates were told.

Richard Paterson, prosecuting, said as she laid on the floor, Davis then sat over her and assaulted her.

Davis, of Fitton Road, St Germans, appeared before the court on Friday and admitting assaulting his partner on March 4. He also admitted criminal damage after urinating on the carpet and breaking two door handles during the incident.

Jackie Upton, representing Davis, said he was under a lot of stress trying to provide for his children after being made redundant seven years ago.

The case was adjourned until April 13 for a pre-sentence report to be prepared. Davis was released on condional bail until then.
