Fakenham made it successive goalless draws with a Premier Division home stalemate against Ipswich Wanderers.

Clear chances were few and far between at both ends though a first-half Robbie Harris run ended with his shot being cleared off the line, while in the second period Dion Frary’s effort was deflected against the visitors’ crossbar.

Ipswich’s Nathan Mackenzie blazed a penalty high and wide on 68 minutes with their best opportunity but neither side could find the breakthrough.

Neil Jarvis, the Ghosts’ joint caretaker boss alongside striker Harris, said: “The conditions were not conducive to good football but we battled and worked hard, and kept another clean sheet which we always look for.

“It gives you a platform to kick on and hopefully win the game and we had one or two chances where we perhaps could have done better, but I think at the end of it 0-0 was a fair result.

“We have tinkered with the shape of the team a bit and the lads know their responsibilities, and apart from the Kirkley game (a 4-0 home defeat) we have looked really strong.

“I was delighted with another clean sheet and we just need to improve a bit with ball retention and be patient with that final pass in front of goal.”
