Organisers of regular charity bingo evenings held in Stow Bridge presented a £1,000 cheque to the East Anglian Air Ambulance service this week.

The presentation was made on Monday evening, during one of the regular sessions, which are held at the village hall and hosted by the village hall committee.

Committee secretary Barbara Whyman said the night was “fantastic”, adding: “It was well supported by local businesses and the regular bingo players.”

Local businesses such as Bearts, the Farm Shop, Rolfe Joinery and the village’s petrol station all donated a combination of money and prizes. Other businesses from Downham helped towards the cause.
