The Swaffham branch of Save the Children kicked off their 2016 fundraising efforts with a coffee morning and stalls in the Assembly Rooms on Saturday.
Organiser Janet Webb said: “We do this about every five weeks here or in the Methodist rooms and we are always well supported.”
Members provide both the refreshments and run the stalls, which are mainly stocked with public donations.
Their efforts raise more than £3,000 each year which goes to support the vital work of the charity both in the UK and abroad.
Mrs Webb said that among their many currently initiatives was, for example, helping families in deprived areas in the country by setting up community meeting places and safe areas for children.
She added: “I’m grateful to our team of helpers. Without them and the support of the public none of this would be possible.”
Donations or offers of help are always welcome. Phone 01760 721929 for more information.
