Colleagues and supporters of Swaffham’s Merle Boddy Centre have honoured site manager Georgina Bell as she celebrated 25 years of working there.

The town’s former MP, Baroness Shephard, presented Mrs Bell with a certificate and bouquet to mark the occasion last Friday.

Mrs Bell paid tribute to her staff and volunteers for their support over the years.

She added: “Without them, I wouldn’t be able to do my job.

“Every day that I come to work is just utter enjoyment.”

The centre, which is run by the Swaffham and District Mental Health Association, supports people living with a range of mental health problems and, increasingly, dementia.

It relies on events, such as a forthcoming dinner dance planned for May, to help maintain the service, which is currently available on weekdays.

Anyone interested in volunteering at the centre should contact Mrs Bell on 01760 724527.
