Christmas is coming ... well, it’s not far away now and the people of Swaffham have been starting their preparations for the festive season.

Swaffham Methodist church was packed with visitors on Saturday for its annual Christmas Bazaar, which has become one of its main fundraising events of the year in aid of church funds.

A wide range of items was on offer, many that would make ideal Christmas presents.

“We’ve had an absolutely tremendous response from the local community,” said the Rev Daphne Lloyd.

“All the stalls are manned by members and everything on them was donated by members”.

In addition to the bazaar the church regularly welcomed many who were not members but who supported other fundraising events during the year including a 48-strong luncheon club and coffee mornings each
Saturday.

“The preparation for the bazaar all takes time and I’m grateful to all our members who work so hard for us.

“I must also give a special thanks to the people in the kitchen who have been preparing breakfasts and providing customers with tea and cakes all morning.”
