Homeowners in Swaffham have today, Monday, December 29, been warned to be vigilant following four burglaries in the town over the past week.

Five other cases have been recorded in other parts of the Breckland district over the same period.

Supt Dennis Lacey, of Norfolk Police, said: “This type of crime is rare, especially in Breckland, and we are working hard to catch those responsible.

“Residents can help reduce this type of crime by taking some simple crime prevention measures, especially over the festive period, when it is easy to be distracted and to let your guard down.”

Making sure windows and doors are properly closed and locked, installing alarms and security lighting and joining a Home Watch scheme are among the measures police recommend taking in order to secure your home.

Anyone with information about the latest raids, or who sees any suspicious activity, should contact police on 101.
